The Tasks tool helps brokers stay up to date and delegate duties to team members. There are three ways to create a task. This guide shows you two options: create a task manually and auto-generate a task when a user moves a card to a new stage (Stage Due Task).
The third option uses triggers in a workflow to generate a task. Click here to learn more.

Prerequisites
None.
Creating a task manually
To manually create a task for someone, go to the side menu and click Tasks. Go to the top right corner and click Add Task. A side panel displays. In the side panel, fill in the fields (see below) and click the Create task button.
Filling in the fields
Go to the Record heading and click Select. Click Loans or Contacts and then select the subject of the task.
Click the Use Template field and select an option (or create a new template) if you want to use an existing task configuration. BrokerEngine displays the name of the template on the panel and auto-fills the description field (if available) so the assignee can understand what needs to be done. Edit the description as required.
Complete these additional steps:
Click the Priority field and select an option (critical, high, medium, or low).
Set a due date for the task.
Add or update the description (if required).
Create Create task.
Options
Click the Assignee field and select the person responsible for this task.
Enter an estimated time to complete.
Attach a file to the task. (max upload size is 10 MB)
If you want BrokerEngine to send an alert when the assignee completes the task, click the Notify user field and select a person.
Managing manual tasks
After you create a task manually, BrokerEngine adds the item to the Tasks table. Use a filter to narrow the results and locate a task.
Completed tasks
A green checkmark indicates a completed task. To mark a task complete, check the box to highlight the row and click the Complete button at the top of the page.
Editing a task
To update information, click a task in the table. A side panel displays. Select a field and make changes. Optionally, you can change the task status to Incomplete (or Complete). Click the Mark as incomplete (or Complete) button at the top of the panel.
To delete a task, click the three-dot icon and select Delete Task.
To close the panel, click the arrow icon on the top right corner.
There is no Save button. BrokerEngine auto-saves your changes.
Configuring a Stage Due task
When a board card, like a lead or deal, moves from one stage to another, BrokerEngine can create a task with a due date that matches the stage's due date. For example, when you create a deal, the first stage is usually focused on getting supporting documentation from the applicants. A common stage due task at this point is Receive documents from client and prepare AIP submission.
To create a stage due task:
Click your profile icon.
Go to the Settings column and Workflow.
Click Boards and Stages.
Select a board and stage for this task.
Scroll down and select a stage. In this example, we create a goal for Deal > Submitted for Pre-Approval / AIP.
Scroll past the Card Details section and locate the Add Stage Due Task heading. Switch on the toggle.
Edit the task name and description.
Select a priority for the task.
Select an Assignee. (see below)
Click Save at the bottom of the page.
Task Assignee - If you check the Broker box, BrokerEngine assigns the task to the card's broker. If you check the Team Role box, BrokerEngine assigns the task to the team member assigned to a specific role for the card. Select a team role from the drop-down list.
