Learn how to create a workflow that auto-generates a stage due task.

When you move a board card (e.g. lead or deal card) from one stage to another, BrokerEngine can generate a task with a due date that matches the stage's due date. For example, when you create a deal, the first stage is usually focused on getting supporting documentation from the applicants. A common stage due task at this point is Receive documents from the client and prepare the AIP submission.

Prerequisites

Creating a stage due task

To start, click the profile icon in the bottom left corner of the page and select Settings. On the Settings page, expand the Workflow folder and select Boards and Stages. A new page displays. Select a board. In this example, I select Deals.

Selecting a stage

Scroll down to the Stages heading and select a stage. In this example, I select Prepare for Submission. Go to the Card Details section and make sure two toggles are switched on:

  • Show Days-In-Stage Indicator

  • Add Stage Due Task

Adding a stage due task

Next, add task details.

Scroll down to the Add Stage Due Task form. Enter a name and description and select a priority. Check the box to assign the task to the Broker or a team role.

If you select Team Role, click the field and select an option.

Go to the bottom of the page and click Save.

Confirming the results

To confirm the workflow is working properly, move a new or existing card into the target stage. Notice that BrokerEngine auto-sets the Stage Due date.

Next, click the Tasks icon on the left-side menu. Open the proper priority filter assigned to the workflow you just created and locate the new task. If the page shows a large number of tasks, enable a deal card filter to narrow down the results.

To learn more about the task, click its name. A side panel opens and displays task details.
