Customise Content in Mail Merge Fields

Change the information a published field displays

This article explains how mail merge fields work in email templates. By default, each mail merge field pulls data from specific, pre-filled fields within BrokerEngine, such as profile settings, contact details, and card information.

Below, you'll learn how to update the information in commonly customised mail merge fields.

Go to the bottom-left corner of your BrokerEngine screen, click the profile icon, and then click Settings. The Personal Details page displays. Expand the Email and Report Preferences folder.

Enter a word or phrase in the Email Salutation field, like Hi. Scroll down and click Save.

On the Personal Details page (see above), expand the Brands folder.

Scroll down to the Email Signature heading. Add the text and images you want to place at the bottom of your messages sent through BrokerEngine. Scroll down and click Save.

To upload a logo file, open the Brands folder (see above) and go to the Logo heading. Click the Click to upload button. Upload a file from your device. Go to the bottom of the page and click Save.

To view the image, click the link. To remove the image, hover your mouse over the link and click the trash icon.

If you need to change your broker group name, email our support team. Account information like that must be updated on the backend of BrokerEngine.

To add or update your brand name, open the Brands folder (see above), go to the Name field, and edit the text. Go to the bottom of the page and click Save.

Use this field with online calendars and appointment booking apps, like Calendly.

Open the Brands folder (see above) and scroll down to Online Calendar URL. Paste in the URL for the online calendar that you want to share with clients. Go to the bottom of the page and click Save.

and {{ broker.google_review_link }}

You can add one or multiple links so that customers can easily leave a review about your business.

Go to the Personal Details page and expand the Review Links folder. Paste in the URL for each review site that you want to share with clients. Click Save.

Use this field to enter a client's preferred name. This name comes from the contact record on a card.

To view or set a contact's preferred name, go to the left-hand side menu and click Contacts. Locate a contact name and click Edit. On the next page, click DETAILS in the side menu. Edit the Preferred Name text. Go to the bottom of the page and click Save.

If the contact does not have a listed name in the Preferred Name field of their contact record, the {{ nicknames }} mail merge field will instead use their First Name.
