Easily add new or existing contacts to a lead or deal as a Co-Applicant or Guarantor, and update roles with a few clicks. You can streamline collaboration by promoting a Co-Applicant to Primary when needed.
You (or your team) must assign each applicant one of three roles.
Primary Applicant: Assign this role to the main contact of the deal or lead.
Co-Applicant: Use this role if you need to add more applicants.
Guarantor: Select this role if the party is going to provide security to support the loan.

Adding a party to an existing lead or deal
Follow these steps to add a party to an existing lead or deal.
Open the Leads or Deals board. Locate a card and double-click the name to display the information in full view mode.
On the next page, locate the Applicants widget and click the arrow icon.
On the next page, click the plus (+) icon. In the drop-down, link to an existing contact (a name already saved in your BrokerEngine account) or create a new applicant record.
Link Existing Applicant
If you select this option, a new window displays. In the first field, enter a few letters of the contact's name. The field auto-suggests matches. Select a name on the list.
Go to the next field and select a role: Co-Applicant or Guarantor. Then click the Link to This Loan button.
BrokerEngine adds the name to the list of applicants. To remove a name from the list, click the three-dot icon and select Remove.
Be sure to read the information in the confirmation pop-up before you click Confirm & Delete.
Create New Applicant
If you select this option, a new form displays. At the top of the form, click the Applicant Role field and select an option. Then enter the user's first and last names (both required fields).
Fill in other fields as needed (all optional) and click Save.
Switching a role to Primary
You can switch a role from Co-Applicant to Primary. Open the Applicants widget and locate a name. Click the three-dot icon and select Promote to Primary.
You cannot switch the Guarantor role to Primary.
Read the information in the confirmation pop-up and then click Confirm & Promote.
BrokerEngine assigns the new role to the contact and changes the other applicant's role from Primary to Co-Applicant.
