โ
Opening the FinanceVault Settings page
Log in to your BrokerEngine account.
On any page, click the user icon (with initials) in the bottom left corner of the screen.
On the next page, scroll down the Settings pane and click FinanceVault.
Configuring options
The options described below are global settings. Any change will apply to all users within your BrokerEngine account and affect all document requests. It is not possible to configure these settings for individual users.
Renaming FinanceVault attachments
This optional but recommended setting helps users manage documents efficiently. If enabled, BrokerEngine automatically renames each attachment that applicants upload to the portal in response to a document request via FiananceVault. BrokerEngine gives each attachment a unique filename to avoid document mismatches or confusion.
This feature does not rename CashDeck and Illion statements.
Here is an example.
A user published and sent a request asking an applicant to upload two payslips. The applicant opened the email, logged into the FinanceVault portal, and uploaded two PDF attachments. Each attachment (see screenshot below) had a personalised file name.
After the applicant uploaded the attachments to the portal, BrokerEngine automatically renamed each attachment by adding the document type (e.g. Payslips) and a unique extension.
Enabling Tax File Number Redaction
If you enable this optional but recommended feature, BrokerEngine scans uploaded documents for tax file numbers (TFN). If the platform finds a TFN, the number in the document is redacted.
Disabling manual upload button on Cashdeck and illion requests
If enabled, this feature removes the manual upload option from user requests asking for bank statements. If disabled, applicants can access the manual upload field, though they are encouraged to use the integrated platform to obtain and forward bank statements to BrokerEngine.
What the applicant sees
Here is an example of how feature changes display on the applicant end.
If this feature is disabled, the applicant platform displays a manual upload option with the document request.
If enabled, BrokerEngine hides the manual upload field inside the document request.
Modifying email templates
The FinanceVault Settings page comes preloaded with ready-to-use templates.
Each template contains a subject line, a salutation, message content, and merge fields, which help personalise the email.
You are free to change or update any part of the message, though we'd offer the following recommendations.
Keep the message as generic as possible. These are global templates, so don't add details that are particular to a small segment of your audience.
Avoid changing the merge fields, if possible. Unintended changes can break the field and produce garbled messages on the user end.
If you decide to modify the merge fields, go to the panel on the right side of the screen and expand a folder. The panel has many different merge field options.
To place a new merge field inside a message, click a spot in the message, and then click the merge field name for that location. To remove the field, select the field and click Delete.
Updating send options
Each email template is enabled and will be sent by the platform when the appropriate trigger is activated. In rare cases, users may want to disable an email template by clicking the send field and selecting Don't Send. This option is not recommended unless the user is familiar with workflow templates.
Optionally, users can set the message to Save as draft. Select this option when you are building or updating a message, but it's not ready to be sent out.
