It's best practice to assign a broker when you create a lead or deal. With a defined broker, the system can assign the appropriate branding to all your client-facing communications. Adding a broker to a new lead or deal (or updating the broker on an existing card) can also affect the captured metrics within the system as well as integration settings.

Learn how to change the owner/broker assigned to a lead or deal.

Assigning a broker

By default, BrokerEngine captures the name of the person who creates a lead or deal and fills the Broker field with that name. That's a time-saving feature as long as a broker creates the lead or deal. If an admin or support user creates the lead or deal, they must click the field and select the appropriate broker.

Re-assigning a broker

To change the broker assigned to an existing deal or lead:

  1. Open a deal or lead card.

  2. Double-click the name to open the card in Full View mode.

  3. Scroll down the page and click the Broker Details card.

At the top of the Broker Details page, go to the Broker line. Click the field and select a different broker. Be sure to click the Lender field and select the appropriate option for this lead/deal.

BrokerEngine auto-fills the Default Broker Brand field. You can change the brand if you have multiple brands. Click Save.
