A different article shows you how to create a product scenario from scratch and then generate a report for the client. This article shows you how to add customisations that enhance the information in the report.

Contents

Prerequisites

Adding loan details and splits

Click the pencil icon next to a number. Add details like loan amount or loan term.

To add the same number (e.g. loan amount) to all options, click the three-dot icon and select Apply to Current Row. BrokerEngine fills the fields in the other options with the same value.

Calculate LMI

Click Calculate LMI to compare lender mortgage insurance premium quotes and pick an insurer. Optionally, click Enter manually to add a figure.

Adding a loan split

Go to the product name at the top of the page and click the three-dot icon. Select Add Loan Split. The product window displays. Enter the information for this phase of the loan.

Opening the product editor

Most line items you might want to show the client can be added or edited on the main table. In a few cases, you might need to open the product editor (e.g. enable the rate lock).

Go to the product name and click the three-dot icon. Select Edit.

The Edit Product window displays. The window shows four main sections: product details, Fees, Features, and a summary at the bottom.

Enabling a rate lock

If the product offers a rate lock, open the product editor and customize the settings. Scroll down to the Rate Lock heading and switch on the toggle. The window displays the Rate Lock amount.

To see how that amount was calculated, click the Rates and Fees link and scroll down to the Additional Details > Fees window. Modify the rate lock fee information if required (e.g. enter a value for the Application Fee).

To display the rate lock fee on the main table, open the Edit Fields window, expand the Homes folder, and check the Rate Lock fee box.

Adding fees

There are two ways to add a fee: on the table and inside the editor.

On the table

Use this option for costs not directly from the product (e.g. an early exit fee).

  1. Select a product column on the table.

  2. Scroll down to the Extras section.

  3. Click Add Fee.

  4. Enter a name and amount.

  5. Select a frequency (e.g. one time).

  6. Check the Show in the Summary box to show the fee in the Summary section at the end of the options of the published report.

  7. Click Add Fee.

Be sure to add the same fee category to all product options in the scenario.

Inside the editor

Open a product editor and scroll down to the Additional Details > Fees section. Expand the section and add information. Click Save.

  • To display the fee on the main table, open the Edit Fields window, expand the Homes folder, and check the box next to the appropriate fee name.

Adding a reversion rate

A reversion rate is the interest rate a loan charges after an initial period. To open the reversion rate panel, go to a Loan Split line and click the three-dot icon. Select Edit.

Scroll down the product window to Reversions and switch on the toggle. Enter the product details for the reversion rate. Click Save.

The product scenario table displays the initial and ongoing interest rates, discounts, and repayments for the option.

Adding a package

Packages are presented as separate line items not included in the product.

  1. Scroll down to the Extras section. BrokerEngine displays suggested packages compatible with your selected products.

  2. Click Add Package to view a list of available package options.

  3. Click Add to add the suggested package to the product option.

Adding an offer

Like packages, offers are presented as separate line items in the Extras section.

  1. Go to a table column.

  2. Click Add Offer to view a full list of available offers.

If available, BrokerEngine displays a suggested offer compatible with a product. Click Add to attach the suggested offer to the table.

Click an offer name. The Offer Details window displays. Read the terms and conditions.

If the offer is a good match for the product and client, click the Back button and then click ADD. BrokerEngine adds the offer to the table. To remove the offer, click the three-dot icon and select Delete Offer. To update the offer, select Edit.

If you want to present multiple offers in the table, click Rearrange to change the display order of the offers.
