With touchSMS, you can send messages from a virtual number (instead of using your personal mobile number) and associate that number with a custom name.

Prerequisites

Setting a virtual number

Send and receive SMS messages from a touchSMS virtual number instead of your personal mobile number.

  1. Login to your touchSMS account.

  2. Navigate to Virtual Numbers and click Order Number.

Select the country, feature, and number you want to purchase.

Virtual numbers are leased for a monthly fee automatically charged to your credit card. Ensure your payment information is set up correctly.

Click Finalize Purchase. Once you have a virtual number, click the three-dot icon to edit.

Now add a virtual number name. You can also arrange to have all inbound SMS messages sent to your email address or forwarded to a landline or mobile number.

Setting up alphanumeric sender IDs

Create a company name using an alphanumeric sender ID. Go to Settings and click Allowed Sender IDs.

Check the confirmation box.

Enter a company name.

Customers cannot reply to a message sent using an Alphanumeric Sender ID. Plus, the Sender IDs cannot be used to send messages to Canada, New Zealand, or the USA.

Emailing to SMS

touchSMS allows you to convert email to SMS messages. Go to Settings and click Email To SMS.

Switch on the Email To Sms toggle to enable the feature.

Select the number of message parts and security settings.

Click Save and then click Add Email Address.

Enter the email address and select the Default Sender ID. Click Add Email to save.
