Here are two time-saving funding position tips to help you avoid unnecessary data entry work. The first tip is to build a funding position by importing data from a product scenario or another deal. The second tip shows you how to import a funding position into a proposal so that you can combine all the information into one easy-to-manage document that can be shared with the client.

Learn these funding position tips.

Importing a product scenario

Create a funding position by importing an existing product scenario already attached to the deal.

In this scenario, the client reviewed the product scenario report and selected a preferred option, indicated by the checkmark next to the product name. The broker generates a finding position using this scenario.

  1. Open a deal.

  2. Click the Funding tab on the side menu.

  3. Go to the top of the center window and click the Import Funding Position link. A popup displays.

Go to the popup and make sure the highlighted scenario is in the field (usually the default option in the popup). If not, click the field and select the client's preferred option. Click the Use Product Scenario button.

BrokerEngine creates a funding position and fills in fields with data from the product scenario. Review the form and add details as required.

Import option

Optionally, you can import an existing funding position into a new position.

This import option is only available if your account already has one or more funding positions for the same client.

  1. Open a deal.

  2. Click the Funding tab on the side menu.

  3. Go to the top of the center window and click the Import Funding Position link.

  4. In the popup, click the Select Funding Position link.

Finally, go to the next popup, select an existing funding position, and click the Import Funding Position button.

BrokerEngine creates a copy of the older funding position. Click the link to rename the position.

Importing positions into a proposal

The second time-saving tip is to import one or more funding positions into a proposal.

In this scenario, we import two funding positions (one for a purchase and one for refinancing) into a single proposal.

  1. Open a deal.

  2. Click the Proposal tab (on the main activity view page).

  3. Click the Create button. A popup displays.

Review the template options on the popup. Click the Use Template button to select an option.

Optionally, you can create a proposal template. Learn more.

BrokerEngine generates a report with figures from the funding position(s). In the below example, one table shows the cash required to complete the property purchase (about $112k), and the second table shows funds available from a top-up equity release loan (about $113k).

Review the proposal text, verify the data, make edits as required, and click Save.

Go back to the activity view. You can export the file as a PDF or click Prepare for Publishing and send the document to the client through FinanceVault.
