Learn how to add a layer of security to a DocuSign envelope by adding phone authentification. If enabled, the client authenticates their account by locating a one-time passcode sent to their mobile device and entering that number into a DocuSign field.

Users of the phone authentication service may be required to pay a per-use fee. Contact your DocuSign account rep for details.

Configuring BrokerEngine

  1. Open the client profile page (full view mode).

  2. Enter a mobile phone number in the Mobile field for each applicant on a lead or deal.

  3. Click Save.

BrokerEngine includes each recipient's mobile number in the information it sends to DocuSign.

Checking phone authentication details

Go to FinanceVault and prepare a document for signature. After you click the Set Up Signatures button, the DocuSign modal displays. The page displays the mobile number of each recipient.

Manually configuring phone authentication

If you're using DocuSign's template matching, DocuSign does not automatically include phone authentication for a document. You'll need to configure it manually:

  1. Under Add recipients, click on CUSTOMIZE next to a recipient.

  2. Select Add identity verification.

  3. Select Phone authentication from Identity Verification.

  4. Check or enter the recipient's mobile phone number.

  5. Repeat for other recipients.
