Isn't it ironic? The purpose of BrokerEngine is to keep brokers away from BrokerEngine. Less app time means brokers can spend more time with clients working on loan strategies and solutions. That's where teamwork comes in.

Typical division of labour

Brokerages use BrokerEngine in different ways. However, the most common division of labour between broker users and team users is generally the following:

Broker users ...

  • Speak with new prospects and record sales outcomes on the Leads board.

  • Create Funding Positions to help scope out prospective Deals and Loan options.

  • Initiate the creation of Loan Strategy Reports to present recommendations to clients in an effective manner.

  • Complete BrokerWizards to delegate the details of a deal, including compliance requirements.

  • Check 1-Click-Workflow checkboxes to communicate any additional finer loan details to your team.

  • Review existing clients' situations and recommend ongoing options.

Team users ...

  • Are the team's engine room.

  • Concentrate on service and administration, while brokers focus on sales and strategy.

  • Spend most of their time on the Task list.

  • Assume primary responsibility for document collection from clients.

  • Prepare client-facing reports and advices.

  • Use dynamic checklists to ensure all Deal details have been covered.

  • Perform Loan Maintenance (pricing requests, variations and switches) via the Maintenance board.

Typical team structures

BrokerEngine is designed to work well with any team structure. The most common team structures are:

  1. One Broker <-> One Team Member

  2. One Broker <-> Multiple Team Members

  3. Multiple Brokers <-> One Team Member

  4. Multiple Brokers <- Multiple Team Members

Another consideration when thinking about your team is who does the client-facing work. The main options are:

  1. The broker does all client-facing activity (e.g. sending emails and making phone calls).

  2. The broker is client-facing initially, then hands off to a client-facing assistant.

Your use of BrokerEngine will vary slightly depending on your team structure and how you interface with clients. Assigned teams may also play a role in your structure.
