Adding an AIA Referral Step to Your Checklist

This article shows you how to add a new checklist item for discussing life insurance and sending an AIA referral, complete with a tooltip link to the AIA referral website

Overview

Checklists in BrokerEngine are designed to error-proof the loan application process and ensure no important steps are missed. While BrokerEngine provides default checklist templates, you can fully customise these to match your business processes.

Steps to Add the AIA Referral Checklist Item

  1. Navigate to Settings

    • From the left-hand menu, click Settings.

    • Scroll down and select Checklists.

  2. Open the Checklist Template

    • Open the checklist template for your account.

    • This will display all existing checklists and items.

    • Decide which checklist and stage the new step should belong to.

      (In this example, we’ll add it to the Formal Approval checklist.)

  3. Add a New Checklist Item

  4. Save and Organize

    • Click Add Item.

    • Drag and drop the new checklist item to the desired order within the list.


Testing the New Checklist Item

  1. Create a new deal (changes only apply to deals created after the checklist update).

  2. Open the relevant checklist (e.g., Formal Approval).

  3. Confirm the new step appears:

    • Discuss Life Insurance and Send AIA Referral.

    • Hover over the tooltip to check that the AIA referral website link displays correctly.


Result

Your checklist now includes a dedicated step to discuss life insurance and send the AIA referral. With the tooltip link in place, you and your team can easily access the referral site, ensuring the step is never overlooked.
